Focusing on the strategic vision of building a first-class wealth management bank, CEB pushed ahead with its transformation towards "agility, technology and ecosphere". Through integrated, characteristic, light-asset and digital development, CEB has stepped up efforts to optimise its product design, channel development and service models. As at the end of 2020, CEB had established 1,296 branches and outlets nationwide, covering all provincial administrative regions and extending its business reach to 149 economic centre cities across the country. Centring on its wealth management strategy, CEB set up Beijing Sunshine Consumer Finance Co., Ltd. to cater for the specialised consumer market, following the establishment of Everbright Wealth Management Co., Ltd. In line with the Belt and Road Initiative and plans to bolster its international presence, CEB has since established Hong Kong Branch, CEB International Investment Corporation Limited, Seoul Branch, China Everbright Bank (Europe) S.A., Luxembourg Branch, Sydney Branch and CEB Tokyo Representative Office. In addition, the application for establishing CEB Macao Branch was approved by the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission (CBIRC). Meanwhile, CEB's long-term sponsorship for "Water Cellar for Mothers", a public charity programme, demonstrated its ever-growing commitment to its social responsibilities, which was well recognised by the Chinese society. In support of financial inclusion, CEB's online service "Cloud Fee Payment" provides hundreds of millions of customers with convenient access to CEB's services. CEB was up 3 places from 2020 and ranked 25th in the 2021 "Brand Finance Banking 500" by Brand Finance, a UK brand evaluation agency. Furthermore, CEB was ranked 35th among the "Top 1,000 World Banks 2020" by The Banker, a UK magazine.
Over the years, CEB has continued to foster its brand image and market value as China's economy and financial sector keep powering ahead. While rendering quality financial services to its customers and the public, CEB has also maintained solid business performance.
